Refund Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
Thermal Canary Pro is sold as a one-time purchase, not a subscription. This page explains your statutory rights as a consumer and the goodwill policy we apply on top of them.
1. Statutory Right of Withdrawal, and Its Exemption for Digital Content
Under Directive 2011/83/EU (and its French implementation, Code de la consommation art. L221-18), consumers in the EU/EEA normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason.
However, this right does not apply to digital content delivered immediately, once you have given your prior explicit consent to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (Code de la consommation art. L221-28-13°, mirroring art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU). Because a Thermal Canary Pro license key is generated and made available to you immediately after payment, this exemption applies, and it is presented to you at checkout before you confirm your purchase.
2. Our Goodwill Refund Window
Even though the statutory withdrawal right does not apply once you have consented to immediate delivery, we offer a goodwill refund within 14 days of purchase if:
- Thermal Canary Pro does not work on your hardware or Linux distribution and we are unable to fix the issue within a reasonable time, or
- You purchased by mistake (for example, a duplicate purchase) and have not activated the license on a machine.
To request a refund, contact us at with your order ID (found in your Lemon Squeezy receipt email) and a short description of the issue.
3. How Refunds Are Processed
Refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record, back to your original payment method, and include any VAT or sales tax that was charged on the original purchase. Once a refund is issued, the associated license key is revoked and any active machine activation is released.
4. Chargebacks
If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us first at so we can resolve it directly. Filing a chargeback with your bank without contacting us first may delay resolution, since Lemon Squeezy, as Merchant of Record, is the party that manages the dispute with your card issuer.
